Office Under Control: A Day in the Life of an Office Manager

#
Every office is a little world with its own rules, secrets, and heroes. At the center of ours is Daniela, the indispensable office manager of Inmolux Group. She navigates the complex system of document storage, speaks several languages fluently, and knows how to effortlessly lift everyone’s spirits. In this interview, Daniela answers tricky questions, shares funny stories, and reveals her secrets for staying on top of things in any situation. Spoiler alert: it’s warm, heartfelt, and fun.

— What does it take to keep an office running smoothly?

— A friendly atmosphere is the foundation of any successful day. When everyone feels comfortable, the office becomes a place you want to return to. It’s like a mechanism: if one gear works smoothly, the rest follow suit.

— What must your ideal workday include?

— A good cup of coffee. Without it, I’m like a laptop without a charger—technically on, but not performing at full capacity.

— Is there something you would like to improve in our company?

— I’d say updating the playlist! Music sets the tone for the mood, and a great background melody helps with focus.

— How do you deal with unexpected problems, like something suddenly breaking down?

— The key is not to panic. I usually contact the responsible person or service right away. Quick resolutions are the key to success—and they save your nerves too.

— Is it hard to connect with different people in the team, considering they all speak different languages?

— Not at all! I come from a mixed background, so I’m used to being surrounded by people from various cultures. It provides fresh perspectives and makes communication exciting.

— If you could compare yourself to a building material, what would it be?

— I asked my colleagues, and they said I’m like wood, porcelain, and concrete: reliable, elegant, and strong.

— What three skills help you succeed at work?

1. Attention to detail — essential, especially in an office where small things make a big difference.

2. Problem-solving — it’s like being a superhero, always ready to jump in and help.

3. Time management — when your day is well-planned, everything runs like clockwork.

— What do you do if multiple tasks demand your attention at the same time?

— A to-do list is my best friend. I prioritize tasks, mark the most urgent ones, and tackle them one at a time.

— What if the office internet suddenly goes out?

— That’s happened before! We contacted the provider immediately and resolved it quickly.

— How do you help employees adapt to changes, like new rules or processes?

— I always take a positive approach. I make sure everyone feels supported and offer my help when needed.

— What’s your role in the office: organizer, motivator, or someone who keeps everything under control?

— A mix of all three! I enjoy keeping things organized and in control.

— Do you prefer to strictly follow rules or add creativity to your work?

— For me, it’s all about balance. Rules provide structure, but creativity keeps things interesting. Without rules, things fall apart, but without creativity, life gets dull.

— If you were creating the perfect office, what would it definitely have?

— A yoga and meditation room. Everyone needs a recharge to keep working with renewed energy.

— How do you lift your coworkers’ spirits?

— We have a tradition: on Thursdays, everyone drinks coffee with cinnamon. It creates a special atmosphere. Small rituals like this strengthen bonds among colleagues.

— What’s your key professional skill?

— My dedication to every task I take on. I always strive to give my best, even for the smallest things. After all, professionalism is in the details.
