Guadalmina is a cozy and peaceful place. It is a small town between San Pedro de Alcantara and the New Golden Mile of Estepona, divided into two parts: Guadalmina Baja and Guadalmina Alta. The two areas differ in the size and style of the property that can be found.

In 1933, Norberto Goizueta and his family aboard the Serva La Bari opened Guadalmina and purchased the farm shortly thereafter. At first, the farm was devoted to agriculture, but in later years this began to change, and the grass and greens of the golf courses replaced corn and wheat. In 1959, the South Campo course was opened. In the same year, the Hotel Guadalmina was opened, also owned by the same family, a hotel with a 9-hole golf course (the first on the Costa del Sol) and a swimming pool surrounded by bungalows, practically adjacent to the coast.

It hosted the Spanish Golf Championship in 1965, the European Tour School qualifying tournaments in 1995 and 1996, and the APG (Professional Sports Managers Association) Spanish Championship in 1998.

Since then, and in collaboration with renowned architects such as Gutiérrez-Soto, the Goizueta brothers have designed an urbanization with the aim of creating a quality and luxurious environment that will become a model for all of Spain. Important properties were built, such as the Parc del Sol apartments on the coast of the Guadalmina Sea, which became a model of architecture on the coast and received significant awards. From the outset, the Guadalmina plots have been designed with a minimum area of 1000 m2 in order to set the same quality standards both in the upper and lower part of the residential complex.

Currently, Guadalmina is one of the most prestigious residential areas of Marbella. Some of the most luxurious villas in Marbella are located in the Guadalmina Baja area, while Guadalmina Alta has smaller plots, apartments and even a new hotel complex.

Guadalmina Baja, located south of the highway and very close to the beach, offers sea views from almost anywhere. In addition, since the houses here are spacious and usually consist of several floors, the upper floors have access to the sea. It is important to remember that Guadalmina Baja is on a flat plot, so most houses that are not on the first line of the beach can only enjoy sea views from the upper floors.

Guadalmina Alta has few views of the sea as it is surrounded by golf courses and valleys. However, the area offers beautiful scenery, extensive green areas and nature. A few points in Guadalmina Alta can provide panoramic sea views, but this is very rare and only available from higher-level apartments and high buildings.

Guadalmina is relatively small compared to other areas of Marbella. It covers approximately 8 square kilometers of land, from the coast to the valley. Guadalmina Baja covers a wider area closer to the sea due to the flatter terrain and adaptability for building. However, Guadalmina Alta covers a vast, extended mountainous area with residences, urbanizations and apartment buildings.

Guadalmina has a lot to offer despite being a relatively small community. Convenient transport links to major roads and nearby towns such as San Pedro, Estepona and Marbella make this a popular place to stay.
